Plate Repair and Refitting

Cast Iron plates weigh 300-600 pounds. They are heavy, awkward and difficult to remove and install.

After removing sediments, oils, and old wax the plate is cleaned, sanded and resurfaced. Three coats of gold dust suspended in clear lacquer are carefully applied to all top and side surfaces followed by two clear coats of gloss lacquer.

A minimum of one week is allowed for the new gold finish to cure prior to installing and detailing the plate.
