Restorations begin with the careful inspection of the entire piano for any worn or broken parts including: cracks or splits in the bridges, pinblock and soundboard, rusted strings and tuning pins and sluggish action components to name a few. We offer the Estimate/Appraisal as a service itself.
During the estimate, all problem areas are noted in detail and itemized. If you have requested our technician to perform an Appraisal of a piano you wish to purchase, the repair cost from the estimate will be subtracted from the value of the restored instrument giving you the actual value of the instrument in its present condition. This valuable information will aid in any purchase decision and help protect customers from paying too much for a piano that may play but has little intrinsic value from years of abuse or neglect: i.e., generations of normal wear and tear without periodic servicing.
